Tuna Rigs presented a special problem for me because I don't catch nearly enough of them to even develop a consistant tuna rig. So I went to the local charter fleet and started asking a bunch of questions. The honest truth is that being in the right place at the right time still appears to be best answer to having consistancy. But with that said, the locals shared a secret with me.

Locals developed a custom hand-tied sea witch that they all swear by as being their most consistant tuna producing bait. They have even nick-named it the "supreme witch". It is a very light headed witch designed to be used over a 12 pack ballyhoo. My assignment was to design three unique looking witches that we at Eye Catcher could call "supreme". Definately not an easy task for a company that makes the flashiest lures in the world but I think once you see what my results were you will agree that these tuna catchers are truely Eye Catcher Supreme Witches!

Each Supreme Witch is tied using a unique blend of premium fiber-optic hair with a couple of silver mylar strips added and then rigged just like the local captains do it. I think you'll find these incredibly inexpensive for such a high quality and effective rig. The color in these witches really comes alive when they hit the water!

Rig #2 is my own favorite rig and is probably the best and most versital rig I make. It will produce on just about any species offshore and is consistantly my leading rig nearly every trip.

 Tuna Rig #1. The Supreme Witch is rigged exactly as a majority of the local charter boats do it with 8 ft. leader 130# Tuff Stuff using a 7691DT 8/0 hook, 1/4 oz. egg sinker and monel wrapping wire. This rig is both simple and deadly!

Tuna Rig #2. This is my own favorite tuna rig with my "bulletproof" ballyhoo rig design. It is a Supra Tuna Dart rigged on 8 ft. of 130# flouro-carbon with a 7691S 8/0 stainless hook, a pin weight and bally rigger combination and includes a series of 5 Zingers in-line in front of it. This rig is pure dynamite on anything swimming.
