The Weed Runner has a small cupped head and a very full straight mylar skirt. A great method with these is to rig them with light leader and a smaller hook that will be covered by the skirt. The weed shedding small cupped head and thick mylar skirt makes this lure perfect for ripping around and through heavy weeded areas while searching for productive water. Fishing a ballyhoo with these isn't even necessary. Their tremendous flash and popping just scream fleeing prey as the rip across the water. Just add enough egg sinker under the skirt for the speed that you'll be running. This method even works great when the lure is completely skipping, flipping and popping out of the water like flying fish that are trying to escape the area.
